THE COFFEE POD MANUFACTURING PROCESS
Tirro takes each steps of manufacturing a coffee pod seriously:
Sourcing and selecting high-quality green beans: We work with coffee suppliers to source and select the best coffee beans for pods. As opposed to many other pod manufacturers, we have opted for creating a blend that we feel performs well in capsules.
Roasting and grinding: The beans are roasted to bring out their unique flavors and aromas, and then ground to a particular, consistently sized powder best suited for pod brewing. We roast and grind in small batches within days of encapsulating, to maintain maximum freshness of the coffee. The few day gap is intentional to allow the freshly roasted coffee to degass.
Measuring and filling: The ground coffee is measured and filled into the aluminum pods using an automated process, tamped and layered with insert gas to minimize the amount of oxygen in the capsule cavity.
Sealing: The pods are sealed to ensure freshness and prevent air and moisture from entering.
Quality control: The pods go through a series of quality control tests to ensure that they meet our standards for taste, aroma, and consistency.
Packaging: The pods are packaged in boxes or sleeves to be shipped to retailers or customers.
