WHY IS INERT GAS INSERTED INTO COFFEE PODS?
The purpose of inserting inert gas (such as nitrogen or argon) into Tirro Nespresso® compatible coffee capsules is to preserve the freshness and flavor of the coffee.
The inert gas displaces the oxygen in the capsule, which can cause the coffee to become stale or develop off flavors over time. By removing the oxygen, the inert gas helps to keep the coffee fresh and flavorful for a longer period of time.
Additionally, the inert gas also helps to protect the coffee from external factors such as light, temperature, and humidity. Injecting inert gas is a common practice in the coffee industry and is used in other forms of coffee packaging such as bags with one way valves.
