VARIETIES OF COFFEE BEANS

There are two main types of coffee beans: Arabica and Robusta.

Arabica coffee beans are considered to be of higher quality and are known for their sweet, fruity and nuanced flavors. They are grown at higher elevations and have a lower caffeine content compared to Robusta beans. About 60-70% of the world's coffee production is Arabica.

Robusta coffee beans, on the other hand, are known for their bold and strong flavors, as well as their higher caffeine content. They are grown at lower elevations and are more resistant to pests and diseases. About 30-40% of the world's coffee production is Robusta.

Additionally, there are many different varietals or cultivars of Arabica beans, each with their own distinct flavor characteristics. These varietals are the result of natural or human-induced mutations, which are then selected for their desirable characteristics.
